I want to thank everyone who bought Slime, W? I hope you enjoy it, and hope you’ll have a listen to the new follow-up, 2008’s “No. 2”. I’ve gone back to school and learned about production/engineering, bought a drum-kit and a ukulele and Garth and Cassandra have joined up with Bill and Ted, forming Wayne’s Stall… oh sorry, that’s not me…

Completed in 2007, with the help of Tony Steele and Ronan Hickey on bass and drums respectively (respectively? - - respect!). An assortment of poignant, bittersweet moments of my – sorry, that’s not me, to quote someone I met in Tullamore in 1999, “it’s … a right good yoke” Please listen to the samples, then buy the CD

More songs, more guitar and another step closer to the sound I want. Tony and Ronan and my sons Alan and Andrew are doin their thang on this one. Hope you get a kick out of the samples and then buy the CD.

Niall O'Riordan

Niall O'Riordan, vocals, guitar, songwriter from Fermoy in Co. Cork. Learned tin whistle at age 7 from my brother, Arthur Riordan. Guitar at 12 from Patricia Connery, piano from Gary Thornett. Tot into Queen at 13, Floyd at 15, Zeppelin at 16, Steve Vai at 17, Yes at 18. Started gigging with Gypsy's Kiss, (hard rock) at 17 and have been playing in cover bands since mid-eighties all over Ireland. Started writing and recording seriously around 2001. Vocals and guitar are my first loves, I also play drums, bass, keyboard, flute, cello, banjo, ukulele on the tunes you'll find here. I love pretty much all kinds of music, and I think you'll find most of them in my music. The cool drum parts are played by Ronan Hickey, bass by Tony Steele.

Untrained Melody

Written by the fire at 3am, played out on Westone, Strat, Ibanez, keys, Fretless Jazz, tin whistle, with some superb skin-beating by Ronan Hickey, it's a taste of '75 (Instrumental, apart from a few mumblings...)
